Why Are You Making Excuses?

What's Stopping You?

Have you felt like you weren’t going to reach your goals/dreams/aspirations?

I know I’ve fallen into that mindset, but I’ve gotten better at dealing with that negativity. Though I’m not fully disciplined, I would like you to know that you can start wherever you're at. This isn’t a race, but keep in mind someone else is going through more adversity than yourself. So let’s stop making excuses and if you still don’t believe in yourself. Then I’m here to tell you that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Sounds cheesy and I agree however there are plenty of examples of people actually doing it. Example, the 4 minute mile was seen as impossible, until Roger Bannister did it. Afterwards, many adults and high schoolers have achieved that time. Example, Christine Ha was visually impaired and despite all the struggles, she became the Season 3 winner for MasterChef. Which is a cooking competition with many talented cooks. Trying to impress the 3 most well known chefs and dealing with lots of challenges (including pressure tests). Another example, Tokyo 2021 Paralympics, there were 4,403 athletes participating. All of them had one or more of the following disabilities: range of movement, limb deficiency, leg length difference, short stature, hypertonia, ataxia, athetosis, vision impairment, and intellectual impairment. Yet all of them competed with everything they got.

This article isn’t supposed to discourage you, but inspire you. Instead of making every little excuse, work on your craft/skill/passion/hobby with everything you got. Believe in yourself and you’ve got so much potential.
